Profile:

Stan started his career as a Legal Adviser in the Magistrates’ Court in 1980, winning the Joint Prize of The Justices’ Clerks’ Society and The Association of Magisterial Officers and then qualifying as a Solicitor with honours before moving into private practice in 1994. He joined Wright Solicitors in 1997.

Stan specialises in all aspects of law concerning children, but since being appointed to The Law Society’s Specialist Children Panel in 1999 he is now recognised as one of the leading children’s solicitors in the region and sits on the Ministry of Justice Local Family Justice Board. Stan has represented guardians, children and parents in private child law and public law proceedings, including care, supervision, secure accommodation, wardship, special guardianship and adoption and he has provided expert advice to independent reviewing officers.

Stan heads up the Private Client Department and specialises in all aspects of Wills, Probate and Estates, Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection and issues affecting the elderly. He is experienced in drafting Wills and has experience in acting for and advising elderly clients in issues such as planning of long term care. He also advises on the administration of estates, Grants of Probate as well as Grants of Letters of Administration. He is also experienced in trust administration.  Stan works across both offices and supervises staff in each.

Stan also deals with Deputyship applications; He is bringing his expertise and specialist knowledge in child protection to cases involving protection of elderly and vulnerable adults involving the Court of Protection.

Stan also has experience in helping people to move house. As well as busing and selling houses, he helps clients with declarations of trust, transfers of equity and re-mortgages as well as lease extensions and acquiring the freehold interest in a leasehold property. He also supervises members of staff in dealing with residential property matters. 

Interests:

Stan lives locally and is married with two children. In his spare time, he sits on the board of a community charity in Smethwick, suffers watching West Bromwich Albion, where he and his son are season ticket holders, and enjoys hiking and camping in the great outdoors, when he gets the chance.
